Requirement Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of project management experience, PMI (Project Management Institute) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in the software application development industries.
  • Implementation experience with PeopleSoft/ADP/SAP or other HRMS applications is required.
  • Experience in using implementation methodologies.
  • Must have managed 2 large scale projects, from initiation through planning, execution, control and closedown with delegation, budgetary, and scope responsibility/authority.
  • Experience managing software development projects from a variety of best practice methodologies.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelors Degree or equivalent functional experience

Job Description
Project Managers are responsible for managing implementation and upgrade projects according to methodology and program standards; project risk analysis, assessment, planning, and management; interfacing with all levels of management and development within the organization; directing project oversight reviews; assisting executive management with data for decision making; project resource forecasting, leveling, and integration; project communication strategies and delivery mechanisms; managing multiple stakeholders on the project; and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Project Management disciplines in the following areas: Scope Management, Schedule Management, Cost Management, Issue Management, Risk Management, Quality Management, Human Resource Management, Communication Management and Contract Management.
  • Establish and manage project plan, including the development schedule, delivery schedule, resource requirements and integration efforts of third party products. Reports on progress periodically to management.
  • Establish project structure and staffing plans, and participates in staffing process, which may include selection of personnel from third party vendors and customers.
  • Motivate and direct project team; sets goals, objectives and priorities; assign and review work. May be held responsible for performance and salary reviews and development plans of team members. Recommend additions and deletions to staff over the life of the project.
  • Act as primary interface with the customer on issues regarding the project deliverable.
  • Ensure customer reviews are held, including the customer user community. Obtain customer sign off on status and requirements.
  • Act as primary interface to subcontractors supplying either product or service.
  • Ensure that approved methods, processes and tools are consistently used.
  • Accountable for meeting project schedule and results as defined in the project plan.

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management in HRMS development projects preferred.
  • Experience with system interfaces across other platforms (i.e. SAP, open systems, web, IVR and mainframe).
  • Expert knowledge of project management practices and techniques, including budget control, risk management, change management, impact analysis.
  • Expert in project planning, scope and change control management, communication management, status reporting, vendor resource management and project issue management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, clients, vendors and peers.
  • Strong PC knowledge with a focus on Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Project.
  • Strong facilitation skills required for driving the project meetings and deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent team interaction skills and interpersonal skills, ability to lead with minimal instructions.
  • Self-motivated, dependable and enthusiastic.
